Edit & Production Assistant

In this role, you will support the Australian production and editorial teams to successfully execute complex print, audio-visual and social projects from initial research and strategy through development and delivery. You will work collaboratively to hit our swift delivery schedules, initiate and upkeep workflows, and support the day to day running of the office.

The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator with a keen interest in film. They will be enthusiastic, have a hunger to learn, possess strong organisation skills, be excellent at managing their time, and have the ability to keep a level head under pressure in a reactive environment with quick turnaround times.

KEY TASKS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES​

Edit Support

  • Support in the Daily upkeep of AVID, Premiere, Nexis and storage system
  • Handling media in a variety of formats: backing up rushes, transcoding proxies, converting masters, ingesting media, syncing interviews with audio, syncing multicam, sorting sequences, laying down stems, conforming, creating AAF and exporting files
  • Supporting with troubleshooting technical difficulties (software and hardware) 
  • Maintain ongoing communication between the global internal teams including other edit assistant team members, production, CTA and editorial
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of new equipment
  • Ensure output is technically correct, being confident in using key equipment to assist the online process
  • Creative offline editing support when required 

Production  support

  • Supporting production with the necessary tasks within a trailer lifecycle including quality control
  • Managing media sharing platforms – monitoring usage and creating presentation links
  • Logging data – consolidating timesheets and ensuring  job sheets and editor lists are up to date
  • Project research – consolidating project background information, sourcing reviews, writing script synopsis, pulling comparable examples 
  • Presentations – creating pitch docs and treatments, formatting documents for presentations
  • Sourcing any additional material needed for projects including stock footage or media for sizzle reels
  • Assist shoot work out of office where required

General Office Support

  • Ensuring the office looks tidy,  presentable and is well-stocked at all times
  • Answering calls, client hospitality, printing, scanning and binding scripts
  • Daily office set-up and end of day tasks
  • Maintaining and ordering stock (stationery, equipment, weekly food shopping etc)
EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS​
  • Professional-level written and spoken English (other languages a plus)
  • The legal right to work in Australia (other countries a plus)

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Experience working in an administrative or runner role in a busy and fast-paced creative environment
  • Some experience and knowledge of industry-related software (eg AVID Media Composer, Premier Pro, DaVinci Resolve or After Effects)
  • General IT or technical knowledge or a willingness and interest to learn
